Bangin’ Blueberry Lemonade

A vibrant, slightly fizzy cocktail that combines lemon vodka, creamy blue soda, and fresh blueberries. It’s an easy-to-make party drink with a stunning color and a refreshing balance of sweet and tart. Serve it over ice and garnish with lemon peel and mint for a picture-perfect presentation.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounce Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka (or another lemon-flavored vodka)
  • 3 ounce Frostie Blue Cream Soda (or blue curaçao mixed into regular cream soda)
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Fresh ripe blueberries (for muddling and garnish)
  • 1/3 teaspoon granulated sugar (to dust the berries)
  • Lemon peel for garnish
  • Sprig of fresh mint for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a cocktail shaker or a large glass, combine the lemon vodka, blue cream soda, and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Stir gently to combine — avoid shaking too vigorously if the soda is carbonated.
  2. Fill a serving glass with ice cubes and add a generous handful of fresh blueberries.
  3. Pour the mixed cocktail slowly over the ice and berries so the blue color layers beautifully.
  4. Lightly dust the blueberries with the granulated sugar to add a subtle sparkle and boost the berry sweetness.
  5. Garnish with a twist of lemon peel and a sprig of fresh mint to elevate the aroma and presentation.
  6. Enjoy immediately. Drink responsibly and never drink and drive.

Tips and Variations

Blue cream soda delivers the signature color and creaminess, but if you can’t find it you can create a similar effect by adding a splash of blue curaçao to regular cream soda. Adjust the lemon juice to taste if you prefer your drink tarter or sweeter. For a non-alcoholic version, substitute lemon-flavored sparkling water or lemonade for the vodka and omit the alcohol entirely.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this cocktail in a tall Collins glass to highlight the color and garnishes. Fresh berries and mint not only add flavor but also make the drink visually appealing for summer gatherings or special occasions. Pair it with light appetizers like citrusy salads, grilled seafood, or sweet pastries for a balanced spread.

Storage and Prep

For best results, prepare the cocktail just before serving so the soda stays fizzy. You can pre-mix the vodka and lemon juice in a pitcher ahead of time and add the soda and ice right before serving. Any leftover mixed drink will lose carbonation, so it’s best consumed fresh.

Notes

This recipe is flexible — swap the lemon vodka for plain vodka and increase fresh lemon juice and simple syrup to taste if you prefer a more pronounced lemonade profile. Always taste and adjust the sweetness and acidity to suit your preference.
